Inside Line Promotions – ODESSA, Texas (May 27, 2014) – Following a refreshing holiday weekend with his family, Josh Baughman has one mission for his upcoming busy weekend of competition.

“What we’ve been working for the whole season is to put a whole night together,” he said. “We’ve got to put a whole night together and get past the ups and downs and just race.”

It starts this Friday when Baughman and his Jason Johnson Racing team will make their inaugural visit to Salina Speedway in Salina, Kan., with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

“I’ve watched a few videos on it,” he said. “It looks like it gets pretty slick and builds a curb. Jason has some video I’m going to watch while I’m up here in Missouri at the shop before the race.”

The team will then trek to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, for Baughman’s season debut at the famed half-mile track on Saturday. It also marks only the third career time he will race there.

“That’s one place you can always use laps at,” he said. “It’ll help you anywhere you go in the country. I’m glad we can run there a couple of times before the 360 Knoxville Nationals.”

The weekend ends on Sunday with Baughman’s second trip to Double X Speedway in California, Mo. He rallied from 15th to eighth during his first-career race at the track earlier this season.

“Double X Speedway is a fun place,” he said. “That’s the kind of track I grew up on – a short track that builds a curb on the top. The atmosphere at Double X also makes it fun. I feel real confident going into this time.”
