Inside Line Promotions – GREENWOOD, Neb. (Sept. 23, 2014) – Josh Baughman capped last weekend by picking up nine positions during the Midwest Fall Brawl main event.

“To make the show at that race was a success for us,” he said. “There were guys from all over the country. About 35 of the 45 drivers could have won the feature. For us to finish where we did was a win.”

Baughman’s solid finish during the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event at I-80 Speedway highlighted a hectic weekend, which started on Friday when he advanced from seventh to fifth place in a heat race. That relegated him to a B Main.

“We missed a transfer (in the B Main), but we ran fourth to three of the best guys in the country,” he said.

The weekend concluded on Saturday at the high-banked track following a rain storm overnight.

“We didn’t have a very good heat race,” Baughman said. “We just missed the setup. We came in and talked about some things to change.”

The changes worked in the B Main, where Baughman charged from fifth to a runner-up finish. That started him on the outside of the 10th row for the main event.

“Some guys fell out and we passed some really good cars in the feature,” he said. “The car was working pretty well.”

Baughman powered from 20th to an 11th-place result, which marked his 23rd top 15 of the season.

He is scheduled to compete this Friday and Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., for the Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

“That place as a facility is beautiful,” he said. “The track can be real racy. We’ve had some good luck there. I don’t see any reason why we can’t shock the world and pull off a win.”
