Tulsa, OK | February 5, 2015 – Coming off of his second career Chili Bowl performance and a career best 2014 season with two victories and 15 top ten finishes, Josh Baughman is excited to return to sprint car racing as he starts the 2015 season with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Sprint Car Series in just two weeks. The Odessa, Texas native is set to pilot his Hollywood Blasting & Coating, EE Systems, Inc. No. 17 at five races between two different Florida facilities as he rings in the new season.
The first leg of the two-track series will see Baughman and the entire ASCS National lineup head to East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida from February 19th-21st for the “Ronald Laney Memorial.” Preliminary action at the 1/3rd mile commences on Thursday and Friday with Saturday hosting the $10,000 to win main event.
The following weekend has Baughman taking his Maxim Chassis machine to Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida for a double dose of action on February 27th-28th. The 3/8th mile D-shaped track will host the final two nights of ASCS “Winter Nationals” as the series’ trip to the “Sunshine State” is capped off with two more exciting nights of battle.
Beyond the season opening trip to Florida, Baughman has a huge 55-event schedule lined up in 2015 as he competes all across the country at a number of different tracks. His tentative schedule currently has him racing at a total of 27 different tracks in 14 different states ranging from Washington to Florida.
“Now I’m back in my comfort zone,” said Baughman. “I’m just happy to get back in a winged car where we can continue with our momentum from 2014.”
Several special events on the 2015 campaign for Baughman and his newly relocated Tulsa, Oklahoma team include the Knoxville 360 Nationals at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, the Short Track Nationals at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, AR, and Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Washington. All of these prestigious races along with nearly 50 more will highlight Baughman’s year as he aims for a career best season in 2015.
