Inside Line Promotions – BEDFORD, Pa. (May 2, 2017) – Josh Baughman scored a top-10 finish during his first-ever weekend of competing in Central Pennsylvania with the vaunted PA Posse.

The weekend began on Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, where the FAST Series event was rained out as Baughman was attempting to hot lap and qualify. His team ventured to Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., on Saturday for their debut at the half-mile oval with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.

“We struggled pretty good,” he said. “We had some car issues all night. It was a really cool atmosphere, but we didn’t race very well.”

Baughman timed in 21st quickest overall – sixth in his group – before he placed eighth in a heat race and sixth in the B Main to miss a transfer into the main event by only two positions.

“That car wasn’t liking what we were doing,” he said. “We changed cars and changed some things for Sunday. The car we had upstairs is old faithful so we went back to it.”

The team assembled the backup car for Sunday’s All Star event at Bedford Speedway. Baughman qualified 16th quickest overall and fourth in his group. That lined him up on the pole of a heat race.

“Right before we went out they watered the outside so the guys on the outside had the advantage,” he said. “We had a good battle with Danny Dietrich for third and we ended up fourth to lock into the main event.”

Baughman started the feature on the inside of the eighth row.

“We had a fast car,” he said. “We ran the top most of the race until rubber started coming in to the middle and down lower on the track. I felt like we had a top-five car if we could have stayed up top, but it got too far around.”

Baughman maneuvered to an eighth-place result, which was his best finish in a 410ci winged sprint car this season.

“We’re pleased with the way it ended,” he said. “I really want to go back to Port Royal so I can redeem myself.”

Baughman will return to action this Friday at Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Mo., for the Sedalia Show-Me Showdown before competing on Saturday at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., for the Kansas Outlaw Klassic with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.
