Inside Line Promotions – CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (Aug. 29, 2017) – Josh Baughman has a starting point as he returns to Ohio this weekend to compete with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.

Baughman took his lumps in the Buckeye State last weekend during an All Star doubleheader at Atomic Speedway. He qualified 10th in his group, placed 10th in a heat race and ended 12th in the B Main during Friday’s opening night.

“We struggled early on,” he said. “That place was so slick. We tried some things and went too far. Those tracks are nothing like other tracks in the country. The dirt is different and we don’t race there a lot. It takes us a bit to get acclimated to Ohio racing. On Saturday we met for a long time and made a game plan. We regrouped and tried some things different. We were leaps and bounds ahead of where we were on Friday.”

Baughman qualified third quickest in his group and placed third in a heat race to lock into the 11th starting position for the main event.

“I got up to ninth just past the halfway point and got off the end of the track,” he said. “That brought out a caution and we had to restart at the back.”

Baughman rebounded from his miscue to end with a 16th-place result.

“We have a starting point when we go back,” he said. “If it’s Ohio racing slick we have somewhere to start now.”

Baughman will compete this Friday and Saturday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, with the second night being an All Star Show. He’ll wrap up the weekend on Sunday with the All Stars at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio.
