Lonnie Wheatley, KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 12, 2019) – Josh Baughman gets back into action with the Baughman-Reutzel Motorsports No. 17 Sprint Car team with a pair of events in Minnesota and Iowa this weekend.
Baughman will take in Friday’s card at the Jackson Motorplex before shifting to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night where twin features are on the docket including a makeup event from June 22. Baughman is set to grid the makeup feature 14th after timing in eighth quick on that night before Mother Nature intervened.
Between Mother Nature and work obligations, Baughman’s racing opportunities have been limited thus far in 2019.
“I think we’ve only got to race seven or eight times so far this year,” Baughman commented. “It will be nice to get some laps in here over the next couple of weeks, especially with Nationals coming up.”
Baughman had plans of taking in all of last month’s All Star Circuit of Champions Ohio Sprint Speedweek, but inclement weather limited the Odessa, TX, racer to just three starts with a top-ten run at Muskingum County Speedway among the mix.
In his limited starts so far, Baughman has shown speed with a top-five finish in the ASCS National Tour season opener at Nebraska’s Eagle Raceway in late April among his top runs.
Baughman will look to add some more solid finishes this weekend at Jackson and Knoxville.
